Abstract (en)

Device for the in-situ foaming of hollow profiles with metal foam comprises an induction unit (1) into which a hollow profile is inserted. A foamable raw material (3) is arranged in the hollow profile. The inner wall of the hollow profile has an insulating material and the hollow profile has an electrical gap (4) running in the longitudinal direction. The hollow profile is in contact with the induction unit on at least one point so that during inductive foaming of the raw material the hollow profile forms part of the induction unit. <??>An Independent claim is also included for a process for the in-situ foaming of hollow profiles with metal foam. Preferred Features: The induction unit can be cooled. The shape of the induction unit fits the shape of the hollow profile. The hollow profile has a circular, oval, rectangular or other random cross-section.

Abstract (de)

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung sowie ein Verfahren zum Ausschäumen von Hohlprofilen mit Metallschaum. Die Vorrichtung umfasst ein Induktionsmittel (1), in das ein Hohlprofil (2) einführbar ist, in dem ein aufschäumbares Rohmaterial (3) angeordnet ist, wobei das Hohlprofil (2) eine in dessen Längsrichtung (A) verlaufende elektrische Unterbrechung (4) aufweist und mit dem Induktionsmittel (1) an wenigstens einer Stelle in Berührung ist, so dass beim induktiven Aufschäumen des Rohmaterials (3) das Hohlprofil (2) einen Teil des Induktionsmittels (1) bildet.
