Abstract (en)
A plant for quick facing wood-based panel surfaces with melaminic or phenolic paper sheets comprises a press (11), and a sequential contact-cooling unit (12). The press is operated for hot-pressing of a pack formed of a wooden panel and one or more paper sheets. The cooling unit (12) comprises superposed faced plates (17, 18) that are cooled to a preset temperature and can be closed to come into contact with the opposite faces of the pack after the latter comes out of the hot press. The cooling unit further comprises suction means (20) for the fumes given off from the pack disposed between the cooled plates. In accordance with the method, the press temperature is between 150 and 210 DEG C and the temperature of the cooling plates is between 20 and 60 DEG C, whereas the pressing pressure is in the range of 20 to 40 kg/cm<2>. The cooled plates are closed onto the pack at a pressure between 1 and 2 kg/cm<2>. <IMAGE>
