[origin: EP1319770A2] Roof insulating plate comprises an upper side (1) for supporting roofing tiles and an under side on a roof lath side. A first overlapping section (4) extending over the majority of the side length (L1) is arranged on a first side of the plate. A tapering form-locking groove (5) extends over the majority of the length (l1) of the first overlapping section. A second overlapping section (7) extending over the majority of the side length (L2) is arranged on a second opposite side of the plate. A tapering form-locking bar (8) extends over the majority of the length (l2) of the second overlapping section. Two plates are joined together by inserting the bar of a first plate into the groove of a second plate or by sliding the groove of a first plate onto the bar of a second plate. When adjacent plates are installed the tapering bar engages in a form-locking manner in the tapering groove. <??>Preferred Features: The roof insulating plate is made of polystyrene.
