Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0187034A1] The invention relates to a splicing equipment for connecting continuous tapes of components (1, 2) by means of metal splicing tapes (5) that are provided with a perforation that corresponds to the transport perforation (4) of the continuous tapes of components (1, 2) and that are anchored in the tape material by projections (7) that project from their connecting surface. To this end, the splicing equipment comprises two cheeks (10) and (11) that can be pressed together. At least two centering pins (23) are located in the lower cheek (10), spaced at single or multiple intervals of the holes of the transport perforation (4). Those centering pins are sunk into corresponding holes in the upper cheek (11) when the cheeks (10) and (11) are closed. According to the invention, the cheeks are also provided with a cutting device with knives (19) by way of which the continuous tapes of components (1) and (2) fixated in the centering pins (23) can be cut to length.
