Cords of one rope section (1') are employed as laid-in cords (3) in place of a central core of another rope section (1). The laid-in cords are covered by wrapping a string-like element (5) round them. The element is preferably a plastic rope with a circular cross section and a weight of 0.7-0.8 kg/dm3. An Independent claim is also included for the manufacture of the splice connection.

Langspleißverbindung für ein mehrlitziges Drahtseil bzw. Verfahren zur Herstellung einer solchen Langspleißverbindung, wobei zum Verbinden von zwei Seilabschnitten (1, 1') Litzen eines Seilabschnitts (1') anstelle einer mittigen Einlage eines anderen Seilabschnitts (1) als Einlegelitzen (3) vorgesehen sind, die Einlegelitzen (3) eine Hüllschicht (5') aufweisen, und als Hüllschicht eine Umwicklung aus einem linearen, schnurförmigen Element (5) vorgesehen ist. <IMAGE>
