Abstract (en)

A paper manufacturing suction roller has a mantle (1) whose inner space (2) is exhausted by a pump or fan, and limited on wither side by air seals. The ratio of the perforated mantle surface area and the non-perforated mantle surface area is lower in the outer marginal areas than in the mid-section. The ratio of the perforated mantle surface area to the non-perforated surface area near the seals is less tan in the roller centre section. The perforations are formed by drill action. The roller outer margins and in close proximity to the seals have fewer perforations which are of lesser diameter than the centre section.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Saugwalze mit einem rotierbaren, perforierten Walzenmantel (1), dessen Innenraum zumindest in einer Unterdruckzone (2) mit einer Unterdruckquelle verbunden ist, wobei die Unterdruckzone (2) wenigstens axial von je einem Dichtelement begrenzt wird. Dabei sollen der Anteil von Falschluft und die Geräuschentwicklung dadurch verringert, dass das Verhältnis zwischen der durchbrochenen und der nicht durchbrochenen Mantelfläche des Walzenmantels (1) zumindest in einem, vorzugsweise in beiden Randbereichen geringer als in der Walzenmitte ist und/oder das axiale Dichtelement als Dichtleiste (3) ausgeführt ist und nur ein Teil der radialen Oberfläche der Dichtleiste (3) mit dem Walzenmantel (1) eine Dichtfläche (10) bildet. <IMAGE>
