The opening and closing device has a control unit (30) coupled to a hollow seal (28) around the frame opening of the window (10) or sunroof, for detecting an obstacle (26) in the closure movement path and supplying a signal for stopping or reversal of the electric motor providing the closure movement. The seal has a hollow profile (16) of defined cross-section, filled with a gas or liquid medium, with measurement of at least one parameter of the latter. <??>An Independent claim for a method for operating a device for opening and closing of an automobile electric window or sunroof is also included.

Vorrichtung zum Öffnen und Schließen eines motorisch angetriebenen, insbesondere an einem Fahrzeug angeordneten beweglichen Teils (10) mit einer entlang eines Rahmens (14) des Teils (10) angeordneten Dichtung (28) einer Steuereinheit (30) und einer Einklemmschutzvorrichtung, die beim Schließen des Teils ein Hindernis (26) erkennt, das sich im Verstellweg des Teils (10) befindet und ein Signal an die Steuereinheit (30) weiterleitet, um die Bewegung des Teils (10) zu stoppen oder zu reversieren, wobei die Dichtung (28) mindestens ein abgeschlossenes Hohlprofil (16) mit einem definierten Querschnitt (18) aufweist, das mit einem flüssigen oder gasförmigen Medium (34) gefüllt ist, und eine Messvorrichtung (30) vorgesehen ist, mit der mindestens ein Messparameter des Mediums (34) in Abhängigkeit einer Veränderung des Querschnitts (18) messbar ist. <IMAGE>
