Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0121892A1] The invention concerns a method for treating paper strips for making paper to be impregnated with synthetic resins, comprising the following steps: inserting (3) in the paper (1) a resin-based mixture (A); consecutively to or simultaneously with the insertion (3) of mixture (A), treating (4) at least one surface of the paper strip (1) by applying a resin-based mixture (B); drying (5) the paper; treating (6) the surface of at least one of the surfaces of the paper strip (1) by applying a resin-based mixture (C); drying (5) the paper. After drying and optionally glazing (7), the resulting surface provides for high fidelity printing. The invention further concerns paper to be impregnated with synthetic resins obtained by said method. The invention is useful for high pressure and/or low pressure lamination of supports such as particle boards, woodfibre boards, plywood sheets or the like.
