Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1323653A1] The selection device for separating one by one articles from a stack of mail articles comprises a support surface (12) and transport belts (14,16,18) for driving the articles above the support surface. A movable pressure plate (20,22) cooperates with the transport belts to drive downstream a part of the mail articles coming from the stack corresponding to a maximum pre-specified thickness of mail articles. Independent, individually movable selection tongues (24,26) select a mail article from amongst the articles driven by the transport belts.
