[origin: WO0231305A1] A fireproof repository having a fire resistance capable of preventing quality degradation of stored articles even when subjected to high temperature conditions, and having a superior portability. The fireproof repository comprises a repository section having an opening in a portion thereof, and a cover capable of closing the opening in the repository section to keep the interior thereof in a sealed state and capable of opening the interior as the occasion demands, characterized in that the repository section is of multilayer construction including three layers, i.e., an outer layer, an intermediate layer and inner layer as seen from exterior to interior, in which multilayer construction, the outer layer is a layer of a refractory heat insulating material whose bulk specific gravity is not more than 1.0 g/cm<3>, the intermediate layer is a layer of a material having an air layer and/or endothermic property, and the inner layer is a layer of an incombustible material whose bulk specific gravity is not more than 2.0 g/cm<3>.
