[origin: WO0228145A1] The invention relates to a microwave device comprising a cooking compartment (11) which is located in a housing (10), at least one microwave source (12) and at least one other, alternative source of radiation (13, 14) to the microwave source (12), this alternative source of radiation being protected from the microwaves from the microwave source (12) by a shielding grid (15, 16). The invention provides that at least one wall (17) of the shielding grid (15, 16) has a radiation reflector (18) by which means the radiation from the alternative radiation source (13, 14) can be reflected into the cooking compartment (11).
