Abstract (en)
The localized electroplating of an injection moulded component (10) comprises: (a) delimiting at least two portions (30, 31) of the component by electrical insulation between these portions; and (b) successive electroplating of each portion by successively disposing at least one electrode (40) at the surface of each portion. The insulation between the different portions is realised by bi-injection of the component, an electroplateable material being injected to make up the portions to be electroplated and a non-electroplateable material being injected to make up the delimitation. Independent claims are also include for: (a) a component with a locally electroplated surface produced by this method; (b) a radio-communication terminal incorporating a shell of which the outer surface is locally electroplated on at least two portions with different finishes.

Procédé de galvanisation localisée d'une pièce (10) obtenue par moulage injection comportant les étapes suivantes : délimitation d'au moins deux portions (30, 31) de la pièce (10) par isolation électrique entre lesdites portions ; galvanisation successive de chaque portion (30, 31) de la pièce (10) en disposant successivement au moins une électrode à la surface de chaque portion (30, 31) ; caractérisé en ce que l'isolation entre les différentes portions (30, 31) est réalisée par bi injection de la pièce (10), un matériau galvanisable étant injecté pour constituer lesdites portions (30, 31) et un matériau non galvanisable étant injecté pour constituer une délimitation (15). <IMAGE>
