Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1327558A2] A vehicle lamp (1), especially a side flashing lamp for cars, is described. A prismatic element (17) is arranged in front of the (at least) one LED (15) so that the light beam given out by the LED enters through a first boundary face (26) into the prismatic element and is reflected at least partly at a second boundary face (28) of the prismatic element, inclined with respect to the central axis of the light beam. This is so that the reflected part emerges through a third boundary face (34) of the prismatic element. The first boundary face of the prismatic element is optically active in a way that it changes the cone angle of the light beam coming from the LED and going through it.
