Abstract (en)
Process for the corrosion protection treatment of chromated and/or passivated zinc and/or zinc alloy surface comprises: applying protective layer on the metal surface by chromating; and contacting with an aqueous solution containing cobalt ions. Process for corrosion protection treatment of a chromated and/or passivated zinc and/or zinc alloy surface provided with a chromium (III)- and/or chromium (VI)-containing protective layer comprises: applying protective layer on a metal surface by chromating in a solution containing chromium (VI) ions and/or passivating in a solution containing chromium (III) ions; and contacting with an aqueous solution containing cobalt ions. Preferred Features: The metal surface provided with the protective layer is immersed in the solution containing cobalt ions. The concentration of the cobalt ions is 1 - 50 mg/l, preferably 1-500 mg/l. The metal surface is rinsed after is has been contacted with the solution, and then dried.

Um eine mit einer chrom(III)- und/oder chrom(VI)-haltigen Schutzschicht versehene Metalloberfläche, insbesondere eine chromatierte bzw. passivierte Zink- und/oder Zinklegierungsoberfläche hinsichtlich der Korrosionsbeständigkeit noch weiter zu verbessern, wird ein Verfahren zur Korrosionsschutzbehandlung derartiger Metalloberflächen vorgeschlagen, bei dem nach dem Aufbringen der Schutzschicht die mit der Schutzschicht versehene Metalloberfläche für eine vorgebbare Zeitspanne mit einer Cobaltionen enthaltenden, wäßrigen Lösung in Kontakt gebracht und anschließend getrocknet wird.
