Abstract (en)
[origin: FR2815638A1] An antimicrobial methacrylic polymer material comprising a thermoplastic methacrylic polymer comprising methyl methacrylate units and monoethylenically unsaturated comonomer units and dispersed in it at least two antibacterial agents: a halogenated phenoxy compound and a thiazolinone, isothiazolinone and sulfonylpyridine at a ratio by weight 0.02-50. An antimicrobial methacrylic polymer material comprising a thermoplastic methacrylic polymer comprising 80-100%, or preferably 90-99.5% of methyl methacrylate units and 0-20%, or preferably 0.5-10% of monoethylenically unsaturated comonomer units and dispersed in it at least two antibacterial agents: a halogenated phenoxy compound and a thiazolinone, isothiazolinone and sulfonylpyridine at a ratio by weight 0.02-50, or preferably 0.1-10 at 20-20000 ppm. An Independent claim is included for articles obtained from the material by extrusion, injection or compression of the material and those obtained by thermoforming the material.
