The user host (2) is equipped with an auxiliary billing program that monitors rates-relevant queries to be launched by the user host (1) regarding Internet offers and which disconnects an existing link (A) of the user host (1) to an access server to the Internet (5) if rates-relevant information is detected and sets up a new link (T) to the billing server system (2) if said link to the billing server system (2) had not already been set up, whereupon the query from the billing server system (2) reaches the provider server that furnishes the chosen Internet offer. The billing server system (2) is designed in such a way that it keeps records of charges-relevant data of queries.
