Abstract (en)
A process for manufacturing expanded polystyrene meat trays characterised by the following steps: plasticizing at a temperature higher than 200 DEG C in an extruder a mixture comprising polystyrene, cellulation regulator materials, inert material in fine powder form and mineral oil; injecting an expanding agent into a zone of the extruder in which the various ingredients have already undergone homogenization; cooling the material to a constant temperature between 140 DEG C and 160 DEG C; extruding the material through a die; winding the sheet obtained by extrusion into rolls; maintaining the rolls at ambient temperature for a period from 1 to 30m days; heating the sheet to a temperature between 120 DEG C and 180 DEG C; thermoforming the sheet by drawing in moulds. <IMAGE>
