[origin: EP1329549A2] The calender has a stack of at least five rollers, where at least two are hard rollers and the remainder have soft mantle surfaces. At least one nip between a pair of rollers can be operated independently of the other nips. All the hard rollers (3, 5) have the same diameter. The hard roller for the separate nip (26) has a higher stretch loading than the other hard roller.
