Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1329562A2] Water drains through a grating (12) into a tapering funnel (6) leading to a short vertical pipe (11b). This fits inside a sump (11a) with outlet apertures near the top. Water passes through an annular space (7) between the outside of the sump and the inside of the casing (8) of the floor drain unit (2). Lips or fins (9) on the outside of this casing fit into the vertical portion of a large L-bend (1) connected to a drain pipe (3) by a sealed spherical joint (4).
