Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0234466A1] The invention relates to a method and a device whereby crankshafts (1) can be machined at the appropriate machining points (lifting bearing points, main bearing points, sides of shaft flanges, end pins/end flanges) on a machine, by means of mechanical removal of material in one and the same machine. The workpiece (1) is clamped on the central axis for each machining step and can be driven in a rotating manner. The axial end regions of the workpiece are received in the receiving devices of two spindles (15, 16) which are oriented towards each other and aligned with each other. Both jaw chucks (20 or 21) and centring points (22, 23) are used as receiving devices and are provided on each spindle (15, 16). Said spindles (15, 16) are arranged on the bed (14) of the machine, as are the tool rests (12, 13) which respectively carry one tool unit. Said tool unit can be driven in a rotating manner about an axis (C2 axis) which is parallel to the rotational axis (Z axis) of the workpiece.
