[origin: WO0235045A1] The invention relates to a glass pane fixing system, for the fixing of single and insulated glass sheets (1, 28, 29), arranged with a jointing gap (12) on a support construction. The edges of the sheet abutting the gap (12) are partly or continuously provided with opposing recesses (5) and the retainers (4) used may be brought into engagement with the recesses (5) on the glass sheets (1, 28, 29) by means of the heads thereof (6, 60, 65) within the gaps (12). Through holes in the glass sheets may be avoided by the above means and a secure edge fixing of the glass sheets is achieved. The system has no frame extending over the inner or outer surface of the glass sheet edge.
