[origin: EP1331305A2] The measurement roller, to monitor the pressure development in a press roller gap, has a roller mantle (1) of plastics with at least one encapsulated pressure sensor (2) to show the pressure applied to the web (3) passing through the roller gap during the rotation of the press roller. A transmitter (5) for the measured values is also within the roller mantle plastics, with an electrical connection (4) to the sensor. The plastics mantle is reinforced by filaments (8), to which the pressure sensor(s) and transmitter(s) are attached for additional strength. The press roller is only used as a measurement roller for a defined measurement time.
