[origin: EP1332994A2] The roll (6, 7, 13) has a hollow axle (15) axially mounted in at least one frame wall (20, 31) and can be moved in the roll plane (12). At least one drive device (23, 24) is mounted in the axle and used to move a rail (25, 26) in an axial direction inside the the axle. The axial movement of the rail is converted into a movement of the axle in the roll plane via a crank (27, 30) which has a fixed rotary point (29, 34) and is connected to the rail, by pivoting the crank about its rotary point.
