[origin: EP1333001A1] An escalator apparatus for moving an endless chain with many steps connected is structured so that in the section where the chain is mated with sprockets, the moving track of the connection portions of the steps with the chain is positioned outside the rotation track of the outer periphery of the teeth of the sprockets.
