[origin: EP1333104A1] Fitting two more or less continuous layers of natural or imitation leather with a series of discontinuous inserts providing a certain local rigidity. Two outer layers are compressed by a roller so their outer surfaces have reliefs corresponding to positions of inserts, which can be in the form of a mesh layer or repeated motif. Inner surfaces of outer layers can be stuck together between the inserts. Fitting two more or less continuous layers (3, 4) of natural or imitation leather with a series of discontinuous inserts (16) providing a certain local rigidity. Two outer layers are compressed by a roller so their outer surfaces have reliefs corresponding to positions of inserts, which can be in the form of a mesh layer or repeated motif. Inner surfaces of outer layers can be stuck together between the inserts, which can be made from a plastic material between one and a few millimeters thick.
