Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0240169A1] The invention relates to a method and an installation for operating a system for grinding waste. Said installation comprises a supply device (1) for the waste to be ground, and a grinding machine (2) having at least one motor-driven (2.3) rotor (2.2) comprising grinding tools (2.2.1) and being horizontally positioned in a housing (2.1) having an ejection door (2.1.1). The inventive installation also comprises drive means for controlling the output and for protecting the installation from waste which is difficult to grind or which cannot be ground, such as coarse, heavy or hard parts. In order to optimise the grinding process, the values of the motor output, of the rotational speed of the rotor, of the temperature of the motor and the mountings thereof and/or of the height of the waste product flow (3) supplied to the grinding machine (2), are input into a control system (4) and are used by the same for controlling/regulating the supply of waste. Technical means (4.5, 4.6, 4.7) are provided in the region of the housing (2.1) for ejecting coarse, heavy or hard parts.
