Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0225015A1] The invention relates to a soil compacting device comprising a vibration generator (3) that acts upon a soil contact plate (4). A controlling means of the vibration generator (3) comprises an amplitude-controlling unit (5) and a frequency-controlling unit (6). The amplitude-controlling unit (5) diminishes the vibration amplitude by a first amplitude difference when a bouncing of the soil contact plate (4) is detected. When no springing is detected within a clock timing, the amplitude-controlling unit (5) increases the vibration amplitude by a second amplitude difference. The frequency-controlling unit (6) determines the driving power that is output by a drive (3) to the vibration generator (3) and changes the vibration frequency so that the driving power approximately corresponds to a preset value. The amplitude control and the frequency control are advantageously carried out in parallel.
