[origin: EP1334675A2] The stool (1) is assembled of a base (2) provided with a convex lower surface (11) and a soft skirting (14), a central column (5) which can be fitted with a height adjusting mechanism (21), and a seat (3) facilitating a squatting position. The outer contours (23) of the seat (3) are curved, resulting in three sections (7,8) shaped like a bicycle seat, allowing the child to sit in a stable position with the knees slightly apart and the pubic bone supported by the projeting section (8). The stool (1) can be tilted because of the convex center (11) of the base (2) and the surrounding soft skirting (14) which also protects the child from injury when his/her fingers get caught under the base (2).
