[origin: EP1335052A1] In a process to monitor and correct the warp thread tension in a weaving loom, a computer control unit compares the current thread tension with a target value. The computer gives a correction command via an actuator to the tension regulator. When calculating the warp beam actuator motor corrections, the computer makes use of data which determines the amount of thread usage per pattern repeat, and changes in the warp beam diameter. In addition to comparing actual values with target values, the computer registers data associated with the number of warp cycles per warp thread and data defining changes in thread load with respect to variations in the warp beam diameter, between the warp beam and weaving compartment. The actuators and tension levers receive corrected commands prior to or during the start-up phase. Also claimed is a suitable assembly.
