Abstract (en)
The device for constant alcohol maintenance for offset printing-moistening water contains a moistening water measurement container (2) with an overflow (14), a controlled feed float (8) in the measurement container for alcohol feed and a recirculation path (24) for moistening water working to and from the moistening water tank (56) which has a forward flow conduit (54), a back flow conduit branch (52) into the moistening water tank and a back flow conduit branch (53) into the measurement container. An alcohol feed path (10) is connectable with the atmosphere by a venting valve (36). In the measurement container an emergency cut-off float (16) is arranged. Dependent upon its floating operation and upon the alcohol content in the moistening water, the venting valve is opened, connecting the alcohol feed path with the atmosphere, when the alcohol content in the moistening water has reached or exceeded an emergency cut-off value.
