The device displays selects or combines individual semiconducting component light elements on a bearer. The light elements are especially LEDs or other integrated semiconducting circuits with light emission components in one or more circuit groups. One or more groups has an associated monitoring circuit that detects a light element fault or failure and produces a monitoring signal depending on the state of the light element or a circuit group(s). The device displays varying information by selecting or combining individual semiconducting component light elements (L) on a bearer. The light elements are especially LEDs or other integrated semiconducting circuits with components for light emission and arranged in one or more circuit groups. At least one or more groups has an associated monitoring circuit (2) that detects a fault or failure of a light element and produces an electronic monitoring signal (U) depending on the state of the light element or of one or more circuit groups.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Anzeigevorrichtung für eine sich ändernde Information, wobei die Information durch Auswahl oder Kombination von einzelnen, auf einem Träger angeordneten Leuchtelementen dargestellt wird, wobei die Leuchtelemente durch Halbleiterbauelemente ausgebildet sind, insbesondere aus Leuchtdioden oder anderen integrierten Halbleiterschaltungen mit Komponenten zur Lichtemission, und die Halbleiterbauelemente in einer oder mehreren Schaltungsgruppen geschaltet sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der wenigstens einen oder mehreren Schaltungsgruppen der Halbleiterbauelemente eine Überwachungsschaltung zugeordnet ist, die eine Störung oder einen Ausfall eines Leuchtelementes detektiert und in Abhängigkeit des Zustandes der Leuchtelemente bzw. der einen oder mehreren Schaltungsgruppen ein elektronisches Überwachungssignal liefert. <IMAGE>
