Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0239871A1] The invention relates to an adapter with holes (9) for the passage of washing liquid (10), said holes being defined by webs (1, 2, 3, 4) that intersect in intersection points (5, 6, 7, 8) on a plane. According to the invention, the webs (1, 2, 3, 4) are inclined in the intersection points (5, 6, 7, 8) in such a way that they have a rhombic cross section. The rhombic profile of the inclined webs (1, 2, 3, 4) forms a double pyramid (12) through which the washing liquid (10) can flow downward independently (especially in critical areas) on all inclined surfaces located on all sides of the rhombus. This prevents the washing liquid (10) from depositing on horizontal surfaces and in the numerous points of deposit, particularly in the intersection points (5, 6, 7, 8). The drying result of elements placed inside the adapter, above all cutlery and/or small dishes, provided by the inventive adapter is substantially better in comparison with existing solutions. Additionally, the disadvantages in known adapters caused by heavy wetting in the numerous points of deposit and particularly in the corners of the individual holes or openings are reduced as a result of the inclined webs having rhombic cross sections disclosed in the invention, thereby improving drying and shortening the drying cycle while preventing dry stains on the pieces of cutlery.
