[origin: WO0244614A1] The invention relates to a lamp (1), comprising a base body (3) for accommodating at least one light source (5), an edge area (11c) on the base body (3) which is turned in the direction of the space (R) to be lit, and a transparent cover panel (8) which is directed towards the space to be lit (R) (8) and which at least partially covers the edge area (11c) as seen from the space to be lit (R). The aim of the invention is to avoid or to reduce the dark edge area of the lamp (1). To this end, the base body (3) and the cover panel (8) only converge at the outermost edge of the cover panel (8) and inside the edge, a free space (31) is formed in-between, allowing light from the light source (5) to enter directly, as far as the cover panel.
