[origin: EP1338762A2] Valve stem seal (1) comprises a seal element (3) made of a polymer material lying radially on the valve stem (8) and axially on the valve stem guide (6), and a sleeve-like holding part (2) holding the seal element. The holding part has wall parts (4) designed as polyhedrons lying on the outer wall (5) of the valve stem guide. Preferred Features: The wall parts lie under spring force on the outer wall of the valve stem guide. The holding part has a triangular cross-section.
