Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0245974A1] The invention relates to a writing implement comprising a housing (2), a writing cartridge (4) contained therein in a displaceable manner and a control unit that displaces the writing cartridge (4) into a first position, in which the cartridge tip (6) protrudes from the housing (2) for writing. The writing cartridge can also be displaced into a second position, retracted in the housing. In the first position, the writing implement has a total length that is suitable for writing and in the second position, the writing implement is contracted. The aim of the invention is to improve the handling of the writing implement without major structural modification, so that the writing cartridge can be brought into the writing position and the writing implement can be extended in a single hand movement. To achieve this, the implement is provided with a depressor (8), which is configured as an extension of the housing (2) and can be actuated to displace the writing cartridge (4) both into the first and into the second position and in the first position, the depressor (8) is drawn out of the rear end of the housing (2).
