[origin: WO0244472A1] The invention relates to a conditioning agent and to a method for conditioning organic material, especially documents. Said conditioning agent consists substantially of moisture or moist CO2. According to the invention, a deacidification agent, preferably alkaline earth compounds, is added to the gels that are used for the deacidification of the documents to be treated, in order to improve this process.
