[origin: EP1340434A1] The method is for producing watertight footwear containing an outer leg (1), to the lower end of which an insole (3) is sewn and a watertight, water-vapor-permeable inner leg (2), which in the sole area has an inwardly turned-over end area. The insole, in an area corresponding to the end area of the inner leg, is provided with a layer (4a) of activatable adhesive. The end area of the inner leg is sewn (5) to the insole. The outer leg is then positioned to encase the inner leg. The end area of the inner leg is positioned so that with the insole and the outer leg a hollow space is enclosed. The lower end of the outer leg is then sewn (6) to the outer edge of the insole. Finally, the adhesive layer (4a) is activated and the end area of the inner leg is pressed against the insole.
