[origin: EP1340555A2] A sieve drum for separating materials has the cylindrical drum with horizontal axis and supported at each end on rollers. One end of the drum is fitted with a metal drive ring rigidly attached around the drum and over which is looped the drive belt/chain. The drive belt/chain is fitted with lateral tags which have friction pads to grip the drive ring. The belt/chain is driven by a simple sprocket. The grip pads can have a rubber layer bonded onto the support tags.
