Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1340663A1] The variable gauge running gear for rail vehicles has propulsion units (1), axle brackets (2) and elements for the positioning and locking of the track width. The propulsion units are each mounted in a corresponding frame serving as a wheel bridge (3) which encloses the wheel disc. The opposite lying wheel bridges are movable in relation to the axle brackets in the transverse direction of the running gear. The elements for the positioning and locking of the track width are installed on the front (3.1) and rear (3.2) supports of the frame serving as a wheel bridge.
