Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1340664A1] The variable gauge running gear for rail vehicles has four wheels (1) and elements for the positioning and locking of the track width. The wheels and an associated wheel hub drive (2) are installed in a swinging arm (3), whereby the swinging arms are connected to horizontal bearing axles (4) on a chassis frame and for track change are movable on them in the transverse direction. The range of travel of the swinging arms in the transverse direction is limited on both sides by fixed stop (5), with the swinging arms being lockable in their two end positions.
