The manipulating device includes a separation mechanism which is adapted to be moved into a stack repository (1) while a sheet stack (3) is conveyed away from the stack repository. The separation mechanism includes a belt (17). An Independent claim is also included for a method for separating stacks of sheets in a device for forming sheet stacks in a stack repository and for conveying the sheet stacks away from the stack repository.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Bilden und Abfördern von Bogenstapeln (3) in bzw. aus einer Stapelablage (1), mit einer Bogenzuführeinrichtung (7) und mit einem Trennmittel (17), das beim Abfördern eines Bogenstapels (3) in die Stapelablage (1) einbringbar ist. Die Erfindung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Trennmittel als Bandelement (17) ausgebildet ist. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung die Verwendung eines Trennmittels in einer vorgenannten Vorrichtung. <IMAGE>
