Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1340845A2] Low, partially or fully oriented filament yarn on bobbins is drawn from a creel (1), treated with a finish (2) and drawn on hot rolls (3, 4). It is then heated (5) and crimped in a stuffer box (6). The processing speed is 200 to 1000 m/min, preferably 300 to 500 m/min, and the resultant crimped tow is 2 to 9 ktex, preferably 3 to 8 ktex. An Independent claim is also included for the application of crimped tows of this kind for the manufacture of hygiene articles.
