Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0701038A1] The spherical contoured window for a vehicle door is operated by two cable drives in guide rails. The guide rail corresponding to the more curved part of the window is inclined w.r.t. the drive plane. The amount of tilts is such that the sliders in both guide rails cover the same distances along the tracks but with different actual movements of the window. For steeply inclined guide rails the slider grips the glass via a sliding compensating rail. The inclined rail can be replaced by a curved rail (1A). The cable drives are linked and can each be driven by an electric servo motor.
