Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0242017A1] The invention concerns a method for preparing adsorbent particles formed from expanded plastic material, said particles comprising open cell-like structures, characterised in that it consists in rasping fine agglomerated smooth-surface shavings from material consisting of beads of said expanded plastic material The invention also concerns adsorbent particles formed from said expanded plastic materials derived from open-surface cell-like structures, characterised in that they are in the form of fine shavings having a dimension ranging preferably between 0.8 and 4 mm said open cell-like structures representing more than 80 % of the visible surface of said shavings. The method for treating soils polluted by hydrocarbons comprises the following steps which consist in: 1) mixing said polluted soils with the inventive adsorbent particles, and 2) separating said adsorbent particles loaded with hydrocarbons and the depolluted soils.
