[origin: WO0248612A1] The invention concerns a method for destroying and/or inerting waste, in particular industrial, biological, agri-food waste, which consists in: using a reactor equipped with at least heating means comprising at least an immersed burner, supplying said reactor with materials capable of being at least partly vitrified, heating with said heating means said materials so as to constitute and maintain in the reactor a phase at least partly liquid/foamy at not less than 800 DEG C; then introducing the waste into said phase so that their organic constituents are decomposed therein by combustion and/or their mineral constituents melted or coated in said phase; finally drawing out from the reactor said phase filled with melted/coated waste and/or combustion products of said waste.
