Chair comprises a support frame (1), a seat plate (6), and a back rest (5) provided with an arm (7) extending below the seat plate. The front end of the seat plate is supported by a spiral spring element (12) which forms one part of a bearing device (11) for the front end of the seat plate and is connected to the support frame in the region of one of its ends facing the back rest. A thrust bearing is formed by a guide surface (17) arranged on the support frame. A bearing part (16) or a further bearing part attached to the seat plate lies on the guide surface. The upper side (14) of the spiral spring element pointing downward toward the front of the chair and the guide surface are arranged at an angle to each other and run toward each other in the direction toward the rear end of the chair. In the upright position of the back rest the spiral spring element is pre-tensioned against the bearing part. Preferred Features: The spiral spring element is a plate spring assembly.

Bei einem Stuhl mit einem Tragrahmen (1), einer Sitzplatte (6) und einer verschwenkbaren Rückenlehne (5) weist eine Lagereinrichtung (11) für die Sitzplatte (6) mindestens ein Biegefederglied (12) auf, das im Bereich seines der Rückenlehne zugewandten Endes einseitig am Tragrahmen (1) gehalten ist und auf dessen Oberseite (14) im Bereich seines federelastisch auslenkbaren, freien Endes (13) ein an der Sitzplatte (6) angebrachtes Lagerteil (16) aufliegt, wobei der vorderseitige Teil der Sitzplatte (6) vom Biegefederglied (12) getragen wird. Zur Ausbildung eines Gegenlagers ist eine am Tragrahmen (1) angeordnete Führungsfläche (17) vorgesehen, an der das Lagerteil (16) oder ein weiteres an der Sitzplatte (6) angebrachtes Lagerteil anliegt, wobei die zur Vorderseite des Stuhls hin nach unten abfallende Oberseite (14) des Biegefedergliedes (12) und die Führüngsfläche (17) winkelig zueinander stehen und in Richtung zur Rückseite des Stuhls aufeinander zulaufen und im unverschwenkten Zustand der Rückenlehne (5) das Biegefederglied (12) gegenüber dem Lagerteil (16) vorgespannt ist. <IMAGE>
