[origin: EP1342665A1] The packing unit making process involves producing a lower carton (10) filled with plate-form workpieces (3) and fitting an upper carton made from a separate cutout (21) to it. The upper carton is then connected to the lower carton. An adhesive may be applied to regions of the lower carton in the form of a strip (27), so that the upper carton will stick to it.
