[origin: EP1344513A2] The medical and treatment bed comprises a carriage frame (1) on which a height adjustable lying frame (2) sealed off at the head and foot ends and having outer-sided corner edges. It also has a vertical axle (11) with rotatable space rollers (6). The space rollers are divided into numerous horizontal axially rotatable slide rollers (7) about its circumference. The slide rollers may be formed roll-shaped or barrel-shaped and be associated with a smooth angled spacer. The slide rollers may be mounted on a rotary-bearing disc-shaped ring (8). Each space roller may have an upper shell (9) and a lower shell (10), with their outer edges being in common with the circumferential area of the space rollers. The upper and/or lower shells may have star-shaped ribs (15).
