[origin: EP1344854A2] An open-end spinning machine has an opening cylinder (1) with an end-face (11) resting on a base (12) with a shaft (2) and bearing (21). The base (12) and bearing (21) are separated by an axial gap (9). To expose the gap (22) to the base (12) for maintenance, the mount (3) is esp. disassembled by sliding over the bearing (21). The opening cylinder end-face (11) directed towards the bearing (21) rests on the mount (3). The mount (3) rests in contact with and may be unscrewed (5) from an end-stop (8) forming part of the base (12).
