[origin: EP1344882A2] Lock for a refrigerating chamber comprises an outer handle (5) arranged on the outer side of a refrigerating chamber door and moved between a locked position and an open position, an inner handle (6) arranged on the inner side of the refrigerating chamber door and connected by a connecting element (7) to the outer handle and moved in a limited manner together with a closing element (8b) relative to the outer handle for emergency release, and a lock part arranged on the door frame. The outer handle in the open position is fixed in a force-locking manner on the lock part on the door frame by an additional closing element containing a spring-loaded latch (11). Preferred Features: The additional closing element is preferably arranged on a ring (8) containing a lock element (8a) effective in the locked position. The latch is a spring-loaded roller or ball.
